Looking for new owner/partner 09-10-2017

I've had a great experience running this tour for 4 years and had to shut it down the last 2 years due to job commitments. I hoped I would have the time to restart the tour but it seems I will not be able to.

I am looking for someone to take over or be a partner going forward as I would hate to see it come to an end. This tour was a great venue for high school players to compete and I put my heart and soul into creating the best tour in Cincinnati.

If you are interested please contact me at 513-314-6493. This is a turn-key operation and I will provide all training and assistance to get you up and running!

Thanks,

John Carr

Championship Results from Walden Ponds 07-22-2015

Results from Walden Ponds on July 22nd

After dealing with rain since the beginning of the season, our final day could not have been better. Clear skies, low 80s, and low humidity made for a very pleasant finish. The course was also in perfect shape but played pretty tough. In general scores were not low but not high either. Most finished in the 80s or 90s. Only 16 birds were carded and 9 of those came from four players.

This final event was scored in two methods. First, it counted as our 10th event towards Tour points to determine our Tour divisional champions. Secondly, it was also scored as a handicapped event which allowed all players the opportunity to win the "Championship" event.

TOUR WINNERS
For our Mens GOLD division, Charlie Winkler wraps up the Tour with a 2nd place finish today and is our Tour Champion. He takes the title with 560 points winning four events, three 2nd place finishes and two 3rd place finishes. Charlie also led in most birdies and pars on the season. Zach Evans finishes as Runner Up with 340 points which included one Tour win and one 2nd place finish. Both of these players will be eligible again next year so I look (and hope) for another great battle between them. Congratulations to both on a great year!

Hannah Hautzinger defends her 2014 title and repeats as our Womens GOLD Tour champion. She waits until the final event to move to the top of the leader board. Hannah finishes with 1230 points, four wins, one 2nd place finish, and two 3rd place finishes. Hannah led in number of birdies and pars as well. Molly McCudden finishes Runner Up with 1160 points, one win, one 2nd place finish, and one 3rd place finish. Congratulation ladies, it was a fun battle to watch all year long!

Heading into our final event, Elijah McCarty had dominated our Mens SILVER division all year and he did not disappoint on the final day. With another first place finish today he becomes our Tour Champion. Elijah played six events and won all of them! He finishes with 320 points so congratulations on an outstanding season. I am sure you will be ready to take on the GOLD players next year. With 260 points Jacob Pell is our Runner Up. Jacob had four 2nd place finishes and one 3rd place finish. He also led the Tour in birdies. Congrats guys!

CHAMPIONSHIP SCORING
In our Championship scoring method, Haley Walter takes the title with a net score of 57.37. Haley blistered her previous best score by 11 shots. Our Championship Runner-Up goes to Haley Reedy with a net score of 61.05 and beats out Grace Weber by 1/100 of a point! Congratulations to both players on a great final round!

Weatherwax Results 07-15-2015

Results from Weatherwax Golf Course on July 15th

Well not much sun today but at least no rain. The only issue in todays event was the old fogeys ahead of the starting group that managed to slow everyone down and resulted in the longest round to complete this season. I am sure that had an affect on our players. Scores were not exceptional today but the number of birdies were. Our men carded 13 and the ladies had 7. Mens GOLD player, Charlie Winkler, had 4 of them! Kudos to Lindsey Bachmann, Haley Reedy and Isabella Oldhaus for having their best rounds on Tour this season! Thanks to all players for hanging in there today with such slow play.

Our next event will be our Championship at Walden Ponds on July 22nd.

MENS GOLD
Charlie Winkler (Talawanda) wins again on the best round of the day carding 42-37 (79) which included 4 birdies. Charlie now has 4 Tour wins this season. Brad Hegman (Elder) has his best round on Tour and earns his first top finish this season and finishes 2nd on a round of 43-41 (84) and has a couple birds as well. Always around the leaders, Daniel Stephen (Sycamore) blisters the back nine and takes 3rd shooting 47-38 (85).

With another Tour win, Charlie Winkler has mathmatically put the competition out of reach and he can cruise in our final event to be Mens GOLD Tour Champion! Charlie has 480 points and is unreachable. Zach Evans remains is 2nd with 280 points and Daniel Stephen is close behind with 270. Looks like these two players will battle in the final for the Runner-Up trophy.

WOMENS GOLD
Andee Everman (Centerville) now has won 3 times on Tour and cruises to victory on a very consistent round of 40-40 (80) which includes 2 birds and 7 pars. This was also Andee's best round on Tour this season. I guess being the local girl gives her an advantage! Julanna Zhang (Mason) follows last weeks win with a 2nd place finish today scoring 45-41 (86). Julanna also had 7 pars and a birdie. Hannah Hautzinger is always near the top and takes 3rd place today shooting 47-43 (90).

Shelby Hoeppner, who has lead in points the entire season, has finally relinquished the lead due to not being able to play the last 2 events. Last years champion, Hannah Hautzinger, takes the lead with one event to play. Hannah has 1130 points but Molly McCudden is right on her tail with 1110 points. Shelby drops to 3rd with 1020 and Carolina Farahay is 4th with 1010 points. Shelby will need these leaders to falter at our Championship event in order to get back on top.

MENS SILVER
Elijah McCarty (West Union) has now won three in a row. He wins easily on a round of 44-43 (87) which included 2 birdies. Jacob Pell (West Union) takes 2nd scoring 47-48 (95) and Tyler Fowler takes 3rd carding 47-50 (97).

In a tight race to the finish, Elijah McCarty is still in the drivers seat with 250 points. Jacob Pell has 220 and Tyler Fowler has 190. These three will be paired together in our final event to see who can handle the pressure and earn the Mens SILVER Tour Champion.

The stage is set for our final Championship event. Charlie has wrapped up Mens GOLD Champion but Runner-Up is still up for grabs. Womens GOLD may come down to the last hole.... or even a playoff. Can Hannah repeat or will Molly overtake her? Mens SILVER will be another battle to the finish. We will have to wait till the final hole is scored to find out. Walden Ponds is a tough course so anything can happen. See you there!

Heatherwoode Results 07-14-2015

Results from Heatherwoode Golf Course on July 14th

Rain. Rain. Rain. Same story as last week. Pars and birdies were hard to come by today with soggy conditions from heavy rains the day before. Then on the back nine the heavy rains came and washed out the round into a 9 hole event. Only 2 birdies on the day. One from Jacob Pell, and one from Carolina Farahay. Kudos to Charlie Winkler for leading the pack by a mile with a front nine of 42 on five pars.  Kudos also to Haley Reedy. She has not finished better than 11th in any event to date, but she takes 2nd place today in our womens division.

NOTE: Players were only able to complete 9 holes in this event due to a rainout. However, in order to score the event, the back nine mimicked the front nine with the same score, and same number of birdies and pars. This was done so that stats and player handicap were kept as consistent as possible.

Our next event will be at Weatherwax on July 15th.

MENS GOLD
Charlie Winkler (Talawanda) wins his third Tour event and crushes the competition with a score of 42 and included 5 pars. Charlie has now finished in the top three in all seven events he has entered. Daniel Stephen  (Milford) takes second carding a 46. Max Broxterman (Walnut Hills) makes his first trip to the podium this season and ties for 3rd with a 47. Ryan Wessinger (Sycamore) also gets another finish and his score of 47 is good for 3rd as well.

With his win today, Charlie Winkler may have put any competition out of reach. He now has 410 points which is almost double of our second place player. Zach Evans still holds 2nd but is far behind with 240 points. Daniel Stephen moves into 3rd with 220 points and Jacob Breth has 200. A few others are close by. Looks like only a battle for Tour Runner-Up in this division remains.

WOMENS GOLD
Julanna Zhang (Mason) get her first Tour win and beats our leaders on a score of 45 which included three pars. Always in the top five, Carolina Farahay (Springboro) ties for 2nd shooting 47 and carding one of only two birdies on the day. Haley Reedy (Bishop Fenwick) has her best score of the year and also ties for 3rd with a 47.

Although not playing today, Shelby Hoeppner still holds a very small lead with 1020 points. Molly McCudden has closed a big gap and now is only 10 points behind with 1010 points. Hannah Hautzinger also is 10 behind with 1000 ponts. Carolina Farahay holds 4th with 880 points. Wow, what a tight pack!

MENS SILVER
Elijah McCarty (West Union) wins for the second week in a row. Four events and four wins is very impressive. He cards a 45 today and wins by one stroke over Jacob Pell (West Union) who scores 46. Tyler Fowler is not far behind and takes 3rd with a score of 48.

Elijah McCarty holds his Tour lead in Mens SILVER but not by much. He has 210 points and is followed closely by Jacob Pell with 190 and Tyler Fowler with 170. Still too close to call with two events remaining. Any one of these three players can be named Tour Champion.

Two events remain on our 2015 Tour. Charlie appears to have Mens GOLD champion wrapped up. Womens GOLD is pretty much a 3-way tie down the stretch. Mens SILVER is also a tight race. Who can handle the pressure and become our Tour Champion?

Deer Track Results 07-08-2015

Results from Deer Track Golf Course on July 8th

Rain. Rain. Rain. It was a steady rain during the entire round today at Deer Track, but our players toughed it out without any (or much anyway) complaints and actually carded some very good scores. Our men even carded 10 birdies on the day with 3 coming from Ryan Wessinger. Congrats to Ryan and Conner Lambert for both having a round in the 70s today! Congrats also to Eli Fuller for winning every event he has entered this season. He has 3 Tour wins!

MENS GOLD
Conner Lambert (Turpin) wins his first Tour event with an awesome round 39-37 (76) considering the poor playing conditions. Ryan Wessinger (Sycamore) is not far behind carding 38-40 (78) to take 2nd. Zach Evans (Madeira) takes 3rd shooting 40-44 (84). Congrats guys on some great golf in the rain!

On our Mens GOLD Leaderboard, the only change is a swap between 2nd and 3rd place. Although not playing today, Charlie Winkler still leads with 320 points. Zach Evans is 2nd with 210 and Jacob Breth drops to 3rd with 200 points. With his win today, Connor Lambert is catching up and stands in 4th with 170. Three events remain and Charlie still has a good lead.

WOMENS GOLD
Molly McCudden (MND) keeps getting better each week and finally gets the win today on a round of 42-44 (86). Hannah Hautzinger (Springboro) also ties for the win scoring 41-45 (86). This is Hannahs third win this year. Coming in at 3rd is Julanna Zhang (Mason) carding 48-44 (92). Also in the 90s were Carolina Farahay with a 95 and Shelby Hoeppner with a 94.

On our Womens Leaderboard, last weeks leaders are still at the top. Shelby Hoeppner still leads the pack with 1020 points. Molly McCudden continues to press her and also remains in 2nd with 920 points. Hannah Hautzinger keeps pace at 910 points. Carolina Farahay is trying to catch the pack and is in 4th with 770 points.

MENS SILVER
Elijah McCarty (West Union) has played three events this season and has won all three. He takes the win on his lowest round of the season as well by carding 39-43 (82). Eli Fuller (West Union) also has his best round to date on Tour and takes 2nd shooting 48-47 (95). Trey Robinson (Milford) takes 3rd on the first event he enters this year by scoring 47-51 (98).

We have a new leader on our Mens SILVER leaderboard. Elijah McCarty moves into the top spot with his win today and stands at 180 points. Jacob Pell is only 10 points behind with 170 and last weeks leader Tyler Fowler is only another 10 behind and stands in 3rd with 160. What a tight race between these three players!

Three events remain on our 2015 Tour. Can Charlie cruise to the finish in Mens GOLD? Shelby will be on vacation next week and miss two events which will allow others to catch up. That division will come down to the final. Also no doubt our Mens SILVER will come down to the final. Maybe we will actually have some clear weather by then!

Blue Ash Results 07-02-2015

Results from Blue Ash Golf Course on July 2nd

A perfect start to the morning. Cool, calm, and overcast. A short pop up rain early on did not slow our players down. Great scores from our men today even though they only totaled 3 birdies. Congrats to Cooper Hausfeld for low score of the day with a round of 80. Most of our ladies didn't fair as well as the men today but they did card 5 birdies today. Kudos go to Nadia Steinbricker for carding her first birdie on Tour this year!

Our next event will be at Deer Track on July 8th.

MENS GOLD
Cooper Hausfeld (Wyoming) has played two Tour events and won both of them. He cards 38-42 (80) for low round of the day with 9 pars and a birdie. Jacob Breth (Turpin) has played three events and has finished winner or runner-up in all three. Today he takes 2nd on a round of 42-40 (82). Charlie Winkler (Talawanda) has made the podium in all six events and finishes 3rd scoring 42-42 (84). Congrats guys on some great golf!

On our Mens GOLD Leaderboard, Charlie Winkler is still the man to beat with 320 points. Jacob Breth moves into 2nd with 200 points and Zach Evans drops to 3rd with 170. With two wins Cooper is close behind in 4th with 160. It appears that our final champion will come from this pack of players but Charlie will be hard to catch.

WOMENS GOLD
Shelby Hoeppner (CNE) wins her second Tour event on a round of 45-41 (86) which included 8 pars and a birdie. Shelby has now finished in the top 3 in all six events so far! Hannah Hautzinger (Lebanon) cards 2 birdies on the front but struggles on the back side and takes 2nd on an up and down round of 39-49 (88).  Molly McCudden (MND)  takes 3rd carding 45-47 (92) which also included a birdie. Kudos to Sammy Skarda for having her best round on Tour this year!

On our Womens Leaderboard, Shelby Hoeppner still has the lead with 930 points, but Molly McCudden has closed the gap and stands in 2nd with 800. Hannah Hautzinger remains close behind in 3rd with 790. Andee Everman also remains in 4th with 740. With the way Shelby has been playing this year, it will be hard for anyone to overtake the #1 spot.

MENS SILVER
As the only entry in our Silver division, Carson McFarland (West Union) takes the win by default on a round of 53-68 (121). Carson has had much better rounds this year, but with no competition he takes the win.

With only one entry in todays event, our Silver leaderboard has not changed since last week. Tyler Fowler remains at the top of the with 140 points. Jacob Pell is only 10 points behind at 130. Elijah McCarty is also close and stands in 3rd with 110 points. Four events remain and still a close race.

Four events remain on our 2015 Tour. Charlie looks to lock up our Mens GOLD title. Still a tight race in Mens SILVER and Shelby looks to put the others away in Womens GOLD. Looking forward to a great run to the finish line!

Hamilton Elks Results 06-23-2015

Results from Hamilton Elks CC on June 23rd

Clouds, wind, and a threat of rain occurred at the start of our event today but the sun poked through and all got started on the course without issue. Conditions were very good today with no rain or severe weather, but our Mens divisions only carded 2 birdies and our ladies totaled 3. Kudos go to Alejandra Bonet and Haley Reedy for carding their first birdies on Tour this year! Five events completed and we finally have a repeat champion in all divisions.

Charlie Winkler (Talawanda) has his best round on Tour and wins his second event carding a solid round of 38-42 (80). Ryan Wessinger (Sycamore) is close behind taking 2nd on a round of 43-41 (84). Jack Soper (Mason) makes his first trip to the podium scoring 46-47 (93). Daniel Stephen starts off well, but a neck injury during play forces him to withdraw. Hopefully he will be back in action on Thursday at Weatherwax.

On our Mens GOLD Leaderboard, Charlie Winkler not only remains at the top, but increases his lead. Charlie now has 250 points and also leads the Tour in birdies and pars carded. Although not playing today, Zach Evans remains in 2nd with 130 and Jacob Breth stays in 3rd with 120. Jack Soper edges closer to the pack and now has 80 points. Can anyone catch Charlie?

Last years Tour Champion, Hannah Hautzinger is close behind in 3rd with 630. Andee Everman did not play this week and falls to 4th with 600. A tight pack but Shelby continues to drive.

MENS SILVER
Elijah McCarty (West Union) ties schoolmate Tyler Fowler (West Union) for the win. Both carded 89 on the round and both had 7 pars on the day. Jacob Pell takes 3rd scoring 53-46 (99).

With his win today, Tyler Fowler moves to the top of the leaderboard with 140 points. Jacob Pell drops to 2nd but is only 10 points behind at 130. Elijah McCarty is also close and stands in 3rd with 110 points. Halfway through the season and a very tight race in this division.

We are halfway through our 2015 Tour and no one has it wrapped up yet. The next couple events could either make our leaders too far ahead to catch or bring them back to the pack. Which will it be? Stay tuned!

Glenview Results 06-16-2015

Results from Glenview Golf Course on June 16th

A hard downpour in the middle of the round did not prevent our golfers from finishing or having some good scores. Four events completed and a different champion each week in both our Mens divisions.  Kudos to Cooper Hausfeld for low round of the day with 79, Sydney Bode for having her best round and finish to date and to Jacob Pell for carding his first birdies on Tour this year... and he had 3 today!

MENS GOLD
Cooper Hausfeld (Wyoming) wins the first event he enters this season. After bogeying the first two holes he pars out the front to go onto a round of 38-41 (79). Jacob Breth (Turpin) is one stroke back with 10 pars on the day and cards 40-40 (80). Charlie Winkler (Talawanda) continues his solid play and ties for 3rd shooting 42-43 (85). Conner Lambert (Turpin) struggles on the front to find his game, but cards eight pars on the backside to recover shooting a wild round of 48-37 (85). Way to hang in there Conner.

On our Mens GOLD Leaderboard, Charlie Winkler extends his lead and now has 210 points. Zach Evans remains in 2nd with 130 and Jacob Breth moves up to 3rd with 120. Our next closest is Daniel Stephen with 70 points. Looks like this may be a three man race to the finish.

WOMENS GOLD
Andee Everman (Centerville) wins her second Tour event carding 41-41 (82) which included 2 birdies and 8 pars. Molly McCudden (MND)  takes 2nd scoring 40-43 (83) and Shelby Hoeppner (CNE) makes it to the podium for the 4th straight week and takes 3rd on a round of 42-44 (86).

On our Womens Leaderboard, Shelby Hoeppner continues a narrow lead with 620 points. Andee Everman moves up to 2nd with 600 and  Molly McCudden climbs again and now has 530 to stand in 3rd place. Can Shelby hold on or will someone bump her off the top spot?

MENS SILVER
Daniel Grass (Seven Hills) also wins the first event he enters by shooting 46-41 (87) and has seven pars on the day. Jacob Pell (West Union) makes his second trip to the podium and ties for 2nd place on a round of 44-48 (92). Tyler Fowler (West Union) gets another Runner-Up finish as well carding 42-50 (92).

Jacob Pell moves to the top of our Mens SILVER division with 100 points. Schoolmate Tyler Fowler is right behind with 90 and Henry Walsh has 70. A few other are close behind. It is still wide open and I expect it to be close to the finish.

Fairfield South Trace Results 06-11-2015

Results from Fairfield South Trace on June 11th

Hot and humid were the words of the day. It didn't seem to bother our ladies though as they carded 13 birdies on the day. Kudos goes to Shelby Hoeppner for having low round of the event with an 80. After 3 events, there has not been a repeat winner in any division. Will that change at our next event at Glenview?

Another beautiful day for golf at Beckett Ridge. It was a little wet and slippery to start but conditions were perfect. While the men struggled a bit, our ladies had some great scores. Hannah Hautzinger sets a Tour record with a round of 77 and 4 birdies!  There were only three others carded on the day and two of those were from the ladies.

Kudos goes to Molly McCudden for carding an eagle 2 on the par 4 second hole. Wow!

Shelby Hoeppner (CNE) birdies the first hole and goes on to take 2nd on a round of 41-45 (86). Julanna Zang (Mason) makes her first trip to the podium after carding 45-46 (91) to take 3rd. Five other ladies just missed out and had competitive scores in the 90's.

On our Womens Leaderboard, Shelby Hoeppner moves to the top with 280 points. Hannah is right behind with 270 and Andee Everman drops to 3rd with 250.  Several others are close so it looks to be a tight race.

Hickory Woods Results 06-04-2015

Results from Hickory Woods on June 4th

It was a beautiful day to begin our Tour at Hickory Woods. Plenty of sunshine and a light breeze made a perfect day for golf. Only 8 birdies were carded on the day with 2 each by Charlie WInkler and Maddie Owens! Kudos of the day goes to new member Jacob Breth to lead all scoring with a round of 80. Henry Walsh was dominant and shot 81 and won the SILVER division by 15 strokes. Andee Everman earned medalist honors in the Womens GOLD with a round of 84 and also had a birdie on the day.

Our next event will be at Beckett Ridge on June 9th.

MENS GOLD
Jacob Breth (Turpin) wins on a round of 38-42 (80) which included 8 pars and a birdie. Charlie Winkler (Talawanda) cards 44-37 (81) to take 2nd.  Cameron Massa (McNicholas) has a very consistent round of 41-41 (82) to finish 3rd. Max Broxterman (Walnut Hills) had 10 pars on the day but missed the podium due to a couple bad holes but expect him to be a contender.

After week #1, both Jacob leads the tour in points with 60. Charlie has 50 and Cameron 40. Looks like a very tight race to begin our season in the Mens GOLD division. Who will step up next week?

MENS SILVER
Henry Walsh (Madeira) blows away the competition in our first event by shooting 42-39 (81) to win the Hickory Woods event. Henry had 7 pars on the day which reflects his strong and steady round. Jacob Pell (West Union) takes 2nd on a round of 48-48 (96) and Michael Massa (McNicholas) finishes 3rd shooting 51-47 (98) and a finishing birdie on a very tough last hole.

So to begin our tour, Henry leads in points with 60, Jacob is 2nd with 50, and Michael 3rd with 40.

WOMENS GOLD
Last year's Tour Runner-Up Andee Everman (Centerville) wins our first event with a round of 41-43 (84) and 1 birdie on the day. Shelby Hoeppner (CNE) cards 46-42 (88) to finish 2nd and Maddie Owens (Lebanon) scores 48-43 (91) to take 3rd. Seven other girls were between 92-96 so look for a tight race. Our event at Beckett Ridge should be a very competitive event!

On our Womens Leaderboard, Andee leads the pack with 150 points, Shelby is 2nd with 140 points, and Maddie has 130 points. Eight events remain so we still have a long way to go before declaring a champion.

2015 Season Kickoff 12-08-2014

Players,

The CAGT is the best summer Tour in Cincinnati and registration for 2015 is now open! Due to your feeback we have made a change to our lineup. Deer Track in Milford has been added to replace Deer Run. I have played Deer Track and it is a fair but challenging layout and a much easier walk than Deer Run. I love the island green on the 8th hole!

Compared to the GCGA, our 2014 cost was more than $100 less over an 8 event schedule! Membership fee is $60 and most event fees are $30.

For a listing of events, click the SCHEDULES tab on our home page.

All graduates from 2015 - 2019 are eligible. Players graduating in 2020 will be considered upon special request.

One change for the 2015 season: We will try to utilize a split tee start when shotgun is not available. Men off one side, ladies off the other.

Helping to work our events this year will be Erin Michel. Erin is a 2011 Mason High School graduate that is on a golf scholarship at BIG 10 school Penn State University.

If you have any questions or issues, please contact John Carr at john@cincygolftour.com or 513-314-6493.

Championship Results from Walden Ponds 07-23-2014

Results from Walden Ponds on July 23rd

Our Championship event was a very long day. This final event was scored in two methods. First, it counted as our 11th event towards Tour points to determine our Tour divisional champions. Secondly, it was also scored as a handicapped event which allowed all players the opportunity to win the "Championship" event.

It wasn't supposed to rain until the afternoon but it was already raining upon arriving at the course at 7:00am. Our start was delayed an hour due to rain and lightning. We finally got started only have to stop after about 8 holes due to more thunderstorms. The players came for lunch and just over an hour later we were back on the course. The afternoon turned out to be beautiful though a bit soggy and all players completed the tournament at about 4:00pm.

TOUR WINNERS
For our Mens GOLD division, Mitchell Otten wraps up the Tour with a 2nd place finish today and is our Tour Champion. He takes the title with 770 points winning three events, three 2nd place finishes and three 3rd place finishes. Mitch also led in most birdies and pars on the season. Ethan Kemp finishes as Runner Up with 580 points which included one Tour win, one 2nd place finish, and four 3rd place finishes. Both of these players will be eligible again next year so I look (and hope) for another great battle between them. Congratulations to both on a great year!

Hannah Hautzinger hangs on to become our Womens GOLD Tour champion. She finishes with 1220 points, three wins, three 2nd place finishes, and one 3rd place finish. Hannah led in birdies and pars as well. Andee Everman finishes Runner Up with 1100 points, one win, four 2nd places finishes, and one 3rd place finish. Congratulation ladies, it was a fun battle to watch all year long!

Heading into our final event, Alex Jones had dominated our Mens SILVER division all year and he did not disappoint on the final day. With another win today on a low round of 74, he becomes our Tour Champion. Alex played eight events, won seven of them and finished in 2nd the other. He led in every statistical category as well as setting a new Tour record of low round with a 68 at Deer Run. Alex finishes with 640 points and congratulations on an outstanding season. With 560 points Ben King is our Runner Up. Ben had one Tour win, four 2nd place finishes and two 3rd place finishes. Ben was also 2nd in Tour pars and birdies. Congrats Ben!

CHAMPIONSHIP SCORING
In our Championship scoring method, Becca Roa takes the title with a net score of 53.85. Our Championship Runner-Up goes to Grace Weber with a net score of 57.42. Congratulations to both players on a great final round and their best of the year as well!

As an added Tour benefit we also had a random drawing for 5 $100 gift cards to Dicks Sporting Goods. Congrats to those winners and go buy yourself some new golf gear!

Results from Weatherwax on July 17th

Another perfect day for golf with fall like temperatures. Weatherwax was also in great shape today making for an enjoyable day for golf. Only 11 birdies on the day but a lot of pars... especially from our ladies

Our last event, and championship, is July 23rd at Walden Ponds.

MENS GOLD
In a tie for 1st place, Drew Schramm (Elder) wins his third event of the season on a round of 41-41 (82) which included 2 birdies. Also taking 1st is Cooper Hausfeld (Wyoming) carding 43-39 (82). Cooper has only played two CAGT events this season and won both of them. He is also tied with Zane Brownrigg for the best scoring average on Tour! We have a three way tie for 3rd. Mitchell Otten (LaSalle), our Tour points leader, gets another top finish on a round of 40-46 (86). A couple bad holes kept him from a win but still a solid round. Ethan Kemp (Lebabon) finishes with 44-42 (86) and seems to always be a top three finisher. Zach Evans (Madeira) makes his first trip to the podium on a consistent round of 43-43 (86). Danny Felton (St. X) just misses out on his first top three finish with a round of 41-46 (87).

Going into our final event it appears that Mitch Otten has a big enough lead to hold on as Tour Champion. Mitch stands at 710 points. Ethan Kemp also appears to have the Runner-Up title with 560 points. Nick Bierschwal did not play today and is a distant 3rd with 430 points.

MENS SILVER
Kevin McAuliffe (St. Xavier) wins his first Tour event on a round of 46-40 (86). Garrett Gray (Goshen) finishes 2nd for the third time this season on a round of 52-46 (98). Henry Walsh (Madeira) gets his first trip to the podium and finishes 3rd on a round of 57-43 (100).

Alex Jones and Ben King did not play this event but they still hold the top two spots on our Mens SILVER division Leaderboard. Alex has 580 points and Ben has 510. Garrett Gray edges closer in 3rd with 400 points but looks to be out of the title race.

WOMENS GOLD
Our top players stepped up to the challenge and thus we have a three way tie for 1st in today's event. Maddie Durbin (Springboro) has played four Tour events this season and won all four! She cards a round of 43-40 (83). Andee Everman (Springboro) gets her first Tour win after many second place finishes and scores 40-43 (83). Molly McCudden (MND) also gets here first Tour win on a round of 41-42 (83) which included 11 pars! What a great day for our ladies! Kudos to Carolina Farahay and Hannah Sheehan for carding their first birdies on Tour this season!

In our Womens GOLD division Hannah Hautzinger holds a solid lead with 1050 points over Andee Everman who has 950. Molly McCudden is a distant third with 800 points.

Heading into our Championship event it appears that Mitch Otten will be our Mens GOLD champion. Alex Jones is in the drivers seat to win the Mens SILVER. While not a slam dunk, Hannah Hautzinger only need to finish in the top half of our Championship event to become our Womens GOLD champion. We still have to play it out... so lets see if our leaders hold on!

Winton Woods Results 07-15-2014

Results from Winton Woods on July 15th

Cool breezes and temperatures in the 70's are unusual for July but thats what conditions were today at the Mill course. Greens were soft and a bit slow from the rains the night before which made putting tough for some. Though we had our best scores of the Tour season today and many players carded their own best rounds as well.

Read on to our divisions below to see who sets a new Tour record for low round!

Our next event is July 17th at Weatherwax.

MENS GOLD
Zane Brownrigg (McNicholas) wins his third Tour event out of only four appearances and carded a very consistent round of 40-39 (70). If not for a double and a triple he would have had a sub-par back nine. Nice round! Taking 2nd is Nicholas Bierschwal (Sycamore) also with a consistent round of 41-40 (81) which included nothing worse than a bogey. Clinton McElroy (Georgetown) places 3rd for the third time this year scoring 44-42 (86). Kudos to Owen Apparius for carding his first birdie on the season!

Although not playing in today's event, Mitch Otten still has the lead on our Mens GOLD Leaderboard with 650 points. Ethan Kemp has closed the gap a bit and now has 500. Nick Bierschwal is still hanging in there in 3rd with 430 points.

MENS SILVER
Cameron Massa (McNicholas) cards the low round in the Silver division on a round of 45-37 (82). Nice run on the backside! Cameron now has two wins on the season. Ben King (Seven Hills) has yet another top finish this week and ties for 2nd shooting 43-41 (84). Ben has five top three finishes on the year including three runner-ups! Stephen Coleman (Sycamore) also finishes 2nd on a round of 44-40 (84). Alex Jones, who has been hard to beat this year, withdraws during the round due to injury. Kudos to Ethan Brogan for carding his best round on Tour this season!

Our Mens SILVER division Leaderboard remains unchanged from last week but the gap is closing. Alex Jones maintains only a 70 point lead over Ben King. Alex has 580 while Ben has 510. Garrett Gray did not play but remains in 3rd with 370 points. Cameron Massa has edged closer and stands in 4th with 350 points.

WOMENS GOLD
Hannah Bennie (Mason) torches the course today carding the lowest Womens round in Tour history. Hannah birdied 3 out of the first 4 holes on her way to a round of 34-41 (75). She also added another birdie on the back nine. Congrats on an awesome round! Three players tie for 2nd. Hannah Hautzinger (Lebanon) and Molly McCudden (MND) both card the same round of 45-39 (84). Andee Everman (Centerville) shoots 43-41 (84) along with her fifth 2nd place finish this year. On any other day an 84 might have been good enough to win.

Hannah Hautzinger remains in the lead in our Womens GOLD division with 790 points. Andee Everman moves up to 2nd with 660 points. School-mates Cassidy Carstens and Molly McCudden are both tied for 3rd with 670 points.

Only one more event before our Championship. It appears that Mitch Otten and Ethan Kemp will go head to head and battle for the Mens GOLD title. Alex Jones and Ben King look to battle for the SILVER. Hannah Hautzinger and Andee Evermann are the favorites for the Womens GOLD. Our last regular event at Weatherwax should be a good one!

Heatherwoode Results 07-10-2014

Results from Heatherwoode on July 10th

Today was an absolute gem with sunny skies, low 80s, and low humidity. A perfect day for golf on a beautiful course at Heatherwoode in Springboro. The course played tough with only 6 players breaking 90. Three from our women and three from the men. Similarly, the men only carded 3 birdies on the day as did the ladies. Two came from Hayden Hoogerhyde and two from Maddie Durbin. I think today our ladies outplayed the men!

Tying for 3rd are two newcomers Victor Lim (Sycamore) who shot 50-40 (90) and George Molinsky (St. Xavier) who carded 43-47 (90).

On our Mens GOLD Leaderboard, Mitch Otten still has a comfortable 200 point lead over Ethan Kemp. Mitch has 650 points while Ethan has 450. Nick Bierschwal remains a distant 3rd with 360 points. Only two other players exceed the 300 mark and seem to be out of contention for the Tour title.

MENS SILVER
Alex Jones (Sycamore) wins his fourth in a row and now has six total wins on the year. While not his best round of the year, he still gets the win on a round of 45-44 (89) which included a birdie.Ben King (Seven Hills) has a rough front nine but still finishes 2nd carding 52-43 (95). WOMENS GOLD
Maiddie Durbin (Springboro) has only played three events this year but she has won all three. She has the low round of all players today shooting 39-44 (83) which included 2 birdies. Andee Everman (Centerville) finishes 2nd, for the fourth time this year no less, on a consistent round of 44-42 (86). Andee also carded her lowest round this season. Alex Martin (MND) takes 3rd shooting 43-44 (87). Additional kudos go to Rachel Berger who carded her first birdie on Tour this year!

Hannah Hautzinger remains in the lead in our Womens GOLD division with 790 points. Andee Everman moves up to 2nd with 660 points. Alex Martin also moves into the top three and stands at 570. Cassidy Carstens did not play again this week and drops to 4th at 550.

Only three events remain and both our Mens division leaders have a 200 point lead. They will be a long shot to overtake but anything can still happen. Hannah has a 130 point lead but can still be caught. Will our leaders hold on?

Deer Run Results 07-02-2014

Results from Deer Run on July 2nd

Another great day for golf today at Deer Run CC. The course was a bit wet from heavy rains the night before and it was a long course to walk, but most players enjoyed the track. Congrats go to Alex Jones for setting a new Tour record by shooting a 2 under par 68 with no bogeys on the day. What an awesome round!

MENS GOLD
Zane Brownrigg (McNicholas) gets his second Tour win on a consistent round of 39-41 (80). Mitch Otten (LaSalle) is only two strokes back shooting 42-40 (82). Mitch now has six top 3 finishes this season. Ethan Kemp (Lebanon) earns his fifth top 3 finish in a row carding 43-42 (85) along with Daniel Stephan (Milford) who scored 43-41 (85). Kudos go to Nick Bierschwal, Zane, and Daniel for all posting their best rounds of the year today! Also Hayden Hoogerhyde led the field with 2 birdies on his round. Half the field broke 90 so all in all very good scores on a tough course.

On our Mens GOLD Leaderboard not much has changed. Mitch Otten extends his lead with 550 points over Ethan Kemp who sits at 430. Nick Bierschwal is a distant 3rd with 300 points. All other players are below the 300 mark.

MENS SILVER
Alex Jones (Sycamore) just gets better every week and sets a new Tour record score on a 2 under round of 33-35 (68) which included 2 birdies and 16 pars! Alex now has 3 wins in a row and 5 on the season. Ben King (Seven Hills) has another top finish to his credit and takes 2nd on a round of 44-39 (83). Garrett Gray (Goshen) takes 3rd scoring 46-41 (87). Kyle Schneider has his best round on Tour this year but just misses his first trip to the podium with an 89.

Alex continues to lead our Mens SILVER division with 530 points and Ben King continues to stay on his heels but is now 110 points back with 420. Garrett Gray retakes the 3rd spot and stands at 340 points over Cameron Massa who did not play. Similar to the GOLD division, all other players are below the 300 mark.

WOMENS GOLD
A pair of Hannahs take the top spot today. Hannah Hautzinger (Lebanon) wins for the third week in a row on a round of 40-41 (81). However she has to share the win with newcomer Hannah Bennie (Mason) who cards 42-39 (81) along with back-to-back birdies on the back nine. Molly McCudden (MND) takes 3rd scoring 44-47 (91). Kudos also go to Molly who carded her first birdie on Tour this year and has also bettered her score each of the last four events!  Additional kudos go to Lindsey Bachmann who had her best round of the year!

With another win today Hannah Hautzinger increases her lead and stands at 680 points. Cassidy Carstens did not play but remains in 2nd with 550 points. Andee Everman also remains in 3rd with 530 points.

Four events remain and while all of our leaders have a decent lead, it cannot be too comfortable as anything can still happen.  Our next two events will be critical for our challengers to make a move. Who can do it?

Blue Ash Results 06-26-2014

Results from Blue Ash on June 26th

Finally a perfect day for golf at the beautiful Blue Ash golf course and scores were very good. The field had 17 birdies on the day with four players getting two apiece. Kudos go to Rachel Bush who has bettered her score by at least 10 strokes in each played event, and Alex Jones who carded the Tours lowest round of the season with a 1 over par 73!

Our next event is July 2nd at Deer Run.

MENS GOLD
In his first Tour event, Cooper Hausfeld (Wyoming) takes the win with a solid round of 39-42 (81). High school team-mate Sam Marty ties for 2nd scoring 39-44 (83) which included 2 birdies and 8 pars. Also tied for 2nd is Mitch Otten (LaSalle) who earns his fifth top 3 finish this year. Zane Brownrigg, Danny Felton, and Zach Evans all tied for 4th with rounds of 86. Zane also carded two birdies on the day. All in all very good scores on a tough course.

On our Mens GOLD Leaderboard, Mitch Otten extends his lead with 460 points over Ethan Kemp who still sits at 350 and Clinton McElroy at 260. Both Ethan and Clinton did not play in today's event.

MENS SILVER
Alex Jones (Sycamore) wins again and destroys all others on an impressive round of 36-37 (73). Daniel Grass (Seven Hills) makes his first trip to the podium finishing 2nd with a round of 45-44 (89). Cameron Massa (McNicholas) continues his streak of top finishes and ends up 3rd carding 48-42 (90). Kudos to Stephan Coleman who carded two birdies today and Michael Massa who got his first on Tour!

Alex continues to lead our Mens SILVER division with 450 points and Ben King continues to stay on his heels but is now 100 points back with 350. Cameron overtakes Garrett Gray for the 3rd spot and stand at 290 points. No doubt our champion will come from one of these four players.

WOMENS GOLD
Hannah Hautzinger (Lebanon) wins for the second week in a row on a round of 42-43 (85) which included 2 birdies. Alex Martin (MND) adds in another trip to the podium and finishes 2nd with a 48-42 (90). Andee Everman (Centerville), who now has five top three finishes, places 3rd this week shooting 47-48 (95).

With her win today, Hannah moves to the top of our Womens division with 560 points. Only 10 points back is Cassidy Carstens with 550. Andee is also close behind with 530. Alex Martin remains 4th but edges closer with 450 points.

We are past the halfway point in our Tour. No one yet has a comfortable lead. Will our leaders step up and distance themselves in the coming weeks or will the race get tighter? I expect some great competitive golf along the way!

Hamilton Elks Results 06-24-2014

Results from Hamilton Elks on June 24th

The rain held off but it was a very humid day at the Elks.  Greens were fast and scores were high.  The Mens divisions combined only carded 4 birdies on the day, while the ladies carded 3! Congrats to Abby Boellner who has equaled or bettered her score in four consecutive events!

MENS GOLD
Mitch Otten (LaSalle) wins his second event with a humbling 42-46 (88). Nick Bierschwal (Sycamore) and Ethan Kemp (Lebanon) both tie for 2nd with rounds of 90.  Nick also had the low nine score with a 40 on the back. The rest of the pack came in bunched up with rounds in the 90's. Congrats to Brady Howell for carding his first birdie on Tour this year!

On our Mens GOLD Leaderboard, Mitch Otten remains in the lead with 380 points. Ethan Kemp is close behind with 350.  Clinton McElroy is a distant 3rd with 260 points. At this point only three other players have at least 200 points so it appears that we have found our leaders.

MENS SILVER
Alex Jones (Sycamore) wins his third Tour event and cards the best round of all divisions today shooting 41-45 (85). Garrett Gray (Goshen) gets back on the podium since week #1 and cards 46-43 (89) for a 2nd place finish. Last weeks winner Ben King (Seven Hills) takes 3rd on a round of 49-44 (93).

The top 3 spots on our Mens SILVER leaderboard remain the same as last week. Alex holds the lead with 310 points, Ben has 250, and Garrett  has 220.  Cameron Massa looks to be the only other contender that may be able to catch them in the second half of the season.

WOMENS GOLD
Hannah Hautzinger (Lebanon) edges out a trio to win the event on a round of 44-43 (87) which included nine pars on the day. A three way tie for 2nd just one stroke back at 88 goes to Rachel Hoferer (Mercy) 47-41,  Cassidy Carstens (MND) 45-53, and Andee Everman (Centerville) 43-45.

The leaders in our Womens division are unchanged from last week. Cassidy still leads with 490 points but close behind are Hannah in 2nd with 450 points and Andee with 440. Alex Martin (MND) moves up to a distant 4th with 350 points. Halfway through the Tour it looks like a three woman race to the title

After five events it has become clear who are leaders are. However, within each pack there is a tight race toward the finish line.  There will be no repeat champion this year in any division so who will it be?

Beckett Ridge Results 06-19-2014

Results from Beckett Ridge on June 19th

Rain threatened early on but soon passed providing a nice start to our event at Beckett Ridge Golf Club. Heat and humidity grew over the course of the round but for the most part a great day for golf. The group carded 13 birdies on the day and an eagle by Ben King on the par 5 12th hole. Nice job Ben!

MENS GOLD
In two Tour appearances, Drew Schramm (Elder) ties for the win in both of them. Drew cards a round of 41-42 (83). Also taking the top spot is Hayden Hoogerhyde (Lakota East) on a round of 43-40 (83).  Mitch Otten (LaSalle) ties for 3rd with 44-41 (85) along with Ethan Kemp (Lebanon) who scores 42-43 (85). Sam Marty (Wyoming) finishes only one stroke out with an 86.

On our Mens GOLD Leaderboard, Mitch Otten regains the lead with 300 points. Ethan Kemp also moves up a spot to 2nd with 280 points. Lasts weeks leader Clinton McElroy did not play but only drops a couple to 3rd with 260 points. Every week our Leaderboard has changed!

MENS SILVER
Ben King (Seven Hills) wins his first Tour event on a solid round of 45-38 (83). Alex Jones (Sycamore) continues his streak on the podium finishing 2nd on a score of 45-41 (86). Taking 3rd in his first Tour event is Stephen Coleman (Sycamore) shooting a solid round of 45-45 (90) and includes his first birdie on Tour this season.

Alex Jones continues to be our Mens SILVER leader with 260 points. Ben King moves up to 2nd and is only 40 points behind. Garret Gray also moves up a spot and is now in 3rd place with 180 points. Cameron Massa did not play and drops back to 4th with 170 points. It appears that these four players seem to be the favorites to win it all in the end.

WOMENS GOLD
Cassidy Carstens (MND) gets her game back and wins her second event on a round of 41-46 (87). Also tied for the win is schoolmate Alex Martin (MND) shooting 44-43 (87). In three events Alex has moved from 5th to 3rd to 1st in today's event. Congrats Alex! Taking 3rd place today is Hannah Hautzinger (Lebanon) who finished only 1 stroke out of the lead with a round of 46-42 (88). Andee Everman recovers from her illness and finishes 4th shooting 89. Congrats to all four of these players who all birdied the 3rd hole today as well as Elizabeth Springer who carded her first birdie on Tour this year!

Cassidy regains the top spot in our Womens division with 350 points. Andee and Hannah both move up as well and are in a tie for 2nd with 300 points. Last weeks leader Maddie Durbin did not play and drops to 4th. Alex moves up from 9th to 5th and is ready to make a run at the leaders.

After four events the Mens GOLD has changed leaders every week. However our top 3 are the same this week as was last week. In the Womens GOLD our top players are beginning to separate from the pack but still a long way to go. Our Mens SILVER also have four clear contenders that look to via for the title. I see some very competitive races in all divisions!

Glenview Results 06-17-2014

Results from Glenview on June 17th

Although the rain finally held off, it was a very windy day at Glenview Golf Course. Temperatures approached 90 degrees along with high humidity. Even so I'm sure the players enjoyed these conditions more than last weeks constant rain and the scores reflected that. Birdies and pars were fruitful especially on the East course.  Birdie leaders on the day include Ethan Kemp and Sam Marty with (3); and Matthew Lewis with (2). What a great day for golf!.

MENS GOLD
Ethan Kemp (Lebanon) wins his first Tour event on a round of 42-37 (79). Finishing in a tie for 2nd is Sam Marty (Wyoming) scoring 46-36 (82) and Aaron Wade (Milford) carding 40-42 (82).  Hayden Hoogerhyde (Lakota East) finishes only a few strokes out with an 84.

On our Mens GOLD Leaderboard, Clinton McElroy (Georgetown) takes over the top spot with 260 points. Mitch Otten (LaSalle) drops to 2nd with 240 points and Ethan Kemp (Lebanon) moves into 3rd with 220 points.  After 3 events we have 3 different champions which means a lot of parity in this division. I expect a back and forth race week after week!

MENS SILVER
Alex Jones (Sycamore) wins back to back events on a round of 38-42 (80) including 9 pars and a birdie for a very solid round. After winning our first event,  Cameron Massa (McNicholas) takes 2nd shooting 47-40 (87). Kevin McAulife (St Xavier) also ties for 2nd carding 43-44 (87) in his first event played.  Daniel Grass (Seven Hills) just misses being on the podium in his first event scoring 89. Congrats to Garret Gray for carding his first birdie on Tour this year!

With another win today, Alex Jones moves to the top of our SILVER Leaderboard with 200 points. Cameron Massa has two top finishes and is only 30 points behind with 170 points. Ben King remains in the 3rd spot with 150 points. Last weeks leader Garret Gray takes one on the chin at today's event and drops to 4th. All these players were at the top last week and are looking to separate themselves from the pack.

WOMENS GOLD
Maddie Durbin (Springboro) has played in 2 events and won both of them. With a round of 39-44 (83) she barely edges out 2nd place finisher Hannah Hautzinger (Lebanon) who cards 43-41 (84). Taking 3rd place is Alex Martin (Mt Notre Dame) scoring 47-41 (88).  Congrats to Abby Boellner and Maddie for both carding their first birdies on Tour this year!

With two wins on the season, Maddie jumps to the top and leads our Womens division with 250 points. Cassidy Carstens remains in 2nd just 10 points behind. Although withdrawing today due to illness, last weeks leader Andee Everman only drop two spots to 3rd place with 220 points. From there it is a tight pack.

After three events the Womens GOLD is still up for grabs. It seems that the leaders in Mens GOLD may separate themselves from the pack in our next events and the same goes for our Mens SILVER division.  Our next event at Beckett Ridge is a tough track and should be a good indication of who the top players are on Tour!

Fairfield South Trace Results 06-11-2014

Results from Fairfield South Trace June 11th

It was a miserable day at Fairfield South. Constant rain, sometimes heavy in spurts, made play very difficult and most scores reflected that. The event was on the verge of being stopped at many points during the round but the players gutted it out. While all Mens players completed all 18 holes, the Ladies were stopped after 9 due to the conditions. Only 5 players broke 90, but a few had very good rounds including an amazing 78 from Mitch Otten. Mitch also had 2 of the 4 birdies carded by the men.

MENS GOLD
Mitch Otten (LaSalle) beats the course, the weather, and competetition with a round of 38-40 (78) on 2 birdies and 6 pars. An impressive round Mitch! Michael McCowan (Lebanon) takes 2nd shooting 43-44 (87) and also had 6 pars. Clinton McElroy (Georgetown) ties for 3rd again along with Ethan Kemp (Lebanon) and Nick Bierschwal (Sycamore). All three carded rounds of 90.

Mitch Otten takes the lead in Tour points with 190 followed by Clinton McElroy in 2nd with 170 and Michael McCowan in 3rd with 100 points. Last weeks leaders Drew Schramm and Zane Brownrigg did not compete this week. Looks like there will be some good competition for the lead over the next few events!

MENS SILVER
Alex Jones (Sycamore) wins his first event on Tour with a round of 42-40 (82). Alex had 9 pars and 1 birdie as well. Ben King (Seven Hills) places 2nd scoring 40-44 (84) and had 7 pars.  Mike Nazzaro (Seven Hills) takes 3rd shooting 44-45 (90) along with a birdie.  Congrats also to Ethan Brogan, David Olsen, and Jake Kovach who also had birdies on a very difficult day!

Garrett Gray (Goshen) moves to the top of our SILVER Leaderboard with 110 points. With today's win Alex Jones is in 2nd with 80 points. Ben King, Jordan Honebrink Block, and Cameron Massa all follow with 70. Still a long way to go before a true leader shakes out!

WOMENS GOLD
Our Ladies only completed 9 holes in this rain shortened event. As such their 9 hole score will be "duplicated" to reflect a full round keeping the number of pars and birdies consistent. Considering the tough conditions and higher scores it may skew averages... but this is our only way to score the event. Hang in there, everyone was in the same boat (literally). 2013 Tour Runner-Up Maddie Durbin (Springboro) wins the event scoring a 45. Andee Evermann (Centerville) is one stroke back at 46 and also had the only birdie of the day for the ladies. Meghan Perrin (Mason) also tied Andee for 2nd with a 46. Pretty good scores ladies considering the weather!

After consecutive 2nd place finishes, Andee leads the Womens GOLD with 220 points. Altough Cassidy Carstens had a very rough day she only drops one spot to 2nd with 170 points. Meghan is also tied for 2nd with 170 points. Molly McCudden remains close with 160 and Maddie is sure to be a factor in weeks to come.

Two events complete and its too early to tell which players will distance themselves from the pack. Lets hope for no rain next week!

Hickory Woods Results 06-07-2014

Results from Hickory Woods on June 5th

It was a beautiful day to begin our tour at Hickory Woods although the course was a bit soggy from the heavy rains the day before. Only 7 birdies were carded on the day with 2 each by Mitchell Otten. Kudos of the day goes to new members Drew Schramm and Zane Brownrigg who lead all scoring with rounds of 81. Cameron Massa played very well and shot 83 and won the SILVER division by 11 strokes. Cassidy Carstens earned medalist honors in the Womens GOLD with a round of 83 and also had a birdie on the day.

Our next event will be at Fairfield South Trace on June 11th.

MENS GOLD
Drew Schramm (Elder) and and Zane Brownrigg (McNicholas) take medalist honors with rounds of 81. Mitchell Otten (LaSalle) and Clinton McElroy (Georgetown) tie for 3rd with scores of 83. While Mitchell had 2 birdies, Zane was the steady player with 10 pars on the day. Clinton also had a birdie on the last hole to finish his round in style.

After week #1, both Drew and Zane lead the tour in points with 100. Clinton and Mitchell are close behind with 80. Looks like a very tight race to begin our season in the Mens GOLD division. Aaron Wade should also be a factor as he finished just out of the podium with an 84. Who will step up next week?

MENS SILVER
Cameron Massa (McNicholas) blows away the competition in our first event by shooting 42-41 (83) to win the Hickory Woods event. Cameron had 8 pars on the day which reflects his strong and steady round. Garret Gray (Goshen) takes 2nd on a round of 48-46 (94) and Michael Massa (McNicholas) finishes 3rd shooting 46-49 (95). Two brothers on the podium... great job guys!

So to begin our tour, Cameron leads in points with 70, Garrett is 2nd with 60, and Michael 3rd with 50. Could this be a duel between brothers?

WOMENS GOLD
Returning player Cassidy Carstens (Mount Notre Dame) finished her last exam at school and came ready to play. With a round of 41-43 (84) and 1 birdie she takes 1st at our first event. Andee Everman (Centerville) has a consistent round of 44-44 (88) to finish 2nd and Molly McCudden (Mount Notre Dame) takes 3rd shooting 44-46 (90). These three girls outpaced the competition in this event and may be ones to contend for the title... although a few other returinng members will be back next week to provide some stiff competition. Our event at Fairfeild South Trace should be a very competitive event!

On our Womens Leaderboard, Cassidy leads the pack with 90 points, Andee is 2nd with 80 points, and Molly has 70 points. Ten events remain so we still have a long way to go before declaring a champion.

While the field for our first event was small due to some still being in school, a few have put up some very good scores and will be the ones to target for our future events. We still have a long way to go though, so who will step up next week?

Championship Results from Walden Ponds 07-24-2013

Results from Walden Ponds on July 24th

Our Championship event was a thriller! This final event was scored in two methods. First, it counted as our 8th event towards Tour points to determine our Tour divisional champions. Secondly, it was also scored as a handicapped event which allowed all players the opportunity to win the "Championship" event.  The bunkers were full of water from the night before, but it was a beautiful day to finish our 2013 Tour.

For our Mens GOLD division Austin Taylor wraps up the Tour with a win and is our Tour Champion. After finishing runner up the last two seasons, Austin outpaced the competition all year. He takes the title with 830 points winning 6 of the 8 events on Tour and also led in every statistical category we track. Quinn Ourada finishes as Runner Up with 710 points which included one Tour win, three 2nd place finishes, and two 3rd place finishes. Both of these players will be eligible again next year so I look (and hope) for another great battle between them. Congratulations to both on a great year!

Our Womens GOLD division came down to the final holes to determine our champion. Katie Willis edges out Maddie Durbin to repeat as Tour Champion. Katie finishes with 970 points, two wins, two 2nd place finishes, and three 3rd place finishes. Katie also led in every statistical category. Maddie finishes Runner Up with 950 points, three wins, two 2nd places finishes, and one 3rd place finish. Congratulation ladies, it was a fun battle to watch all year long!

Heading into the Championship event, Mens SILVER was also a tied race between Kevin Martz and Mitchell Otten. In the end Kevin stays on top and earns the Tour Champion title with 1020 points, two wins, three 2nd place finishes, two 3rd place finishes, and also led in every statistical category.  Mitchell finishes just 10 points behind with 1010 points. Congrats to both!

In our Championship scoring method, Alex Jones takes the title with a net score of 55.07. Alex also had low score of the day with a 78. Our Championship Runner-Up goes to Alex Martin with a net score of 57.01. Alex also tied for low score for the ladies with an 81. Congratulations to both players on a great final round and their best of the year as well!

As an added Tour benefit we also had a random drawing for 5 $100 gift cards to Dicks Sporting Goods. Here are our winners. Go buy yourself some new golf gear!

WOMENS GOLD
Two first time winners end our final event. Alex Martin (MND) cards 40-41 (81) along with Kelsey Wessels (Oak Hills) who shot 41-40 (81). Tour Champion Katie Willis (Lakota West) takes 3rd with a 42-41 (83).

Fairfield South Trace Results 07-18-2013

Results from Fairfield South Trace July 17th

Another hot day and the heat finally affected today's play. Only 10 players managed a round of 86 or better making today's event the highest scoring average this season. Though there were 20 birdies on the day and several players had two apiece. Congrats to Alex Jones who got his first birdies on Tour... and two of them at that!

Our final Tour event and Championship will be at Walden Ponds on July 24th.

MENS GOLD
Brian Goertemoeller (Seven Hills) finally breaks his streak of second place finishes and gets the win on a great round of 36-38 (74). Austin Taylor (Milford) finishes 2nd shooting 37-39 (76). Both Brian and Austin had 2 birdies on the day. Ryan Hanrahan (Anderson) has his best finish and round this season taking 3rd with a score 37-44 (81).

Only a last place finish in our final event could prevent Austin from being our Mens GOLD Tour Champion. Austin has 730 points and a hefty lead. Quinn Ourada (Madeira) has also secured the Tour Runner-Up title with 620 points and cannot be caught by Brian Goertemoeller who is currently in 3rd with 480 points. I still expect these players to compete well at our Championship event next week for bragging rights.

MENS SILVER
Last weeks winner Zach Evans (Madeira) remains hot and shares the win with Mitchell Otten (LaSalle). Zach shoots 42-41 (83) and Mitchell, who know has 3 Tour wins, cards 41-42 (83). Tied for 3rd on rounds of 83 are Ethan Kemp (Lebanon) and Kevin Martz (Bishop Fenwick).

With today's win, Mitchell has once again caught Kevin. Both sit at the top of the Mens SILVER Leaderboard with 900 points. Ethan Kemp holds 3rd place with 810 points and could still make a move if they fall to the pressure. This will be a great battle at our final event to determine our SILVER champion!

WOMENS GOLD
Hannah Hautzinger (Lebanon) wins her second Tour event on a solid round of 40-42 (82). Katie Willis (Lakota West) takes 2nd shooting 41-42 (83) and Maddie Durbin (Springboro) barely edges into 3rd place on a round of 42-45 (87). With a great front nine score of 39, Kelsey Wessels (Oak Hills) succumbed to the heat and finishes 4th scoring 39-49 (88).

On our Womens Leaderboard, the leader has rotated between Maddie and Katie every week. As luck would have it, they are now tied for the lead with 850 points. Hannah and Cassidy Carstens are tied for 3rd with 630 points but are now mathematically out of contention. Its now a two woman race and whoever has the better score at Walden Ponds between Katie and Maddie will be our Womens GOLD Tour Champion!

One event remains. Two of our divisions have players tied for the Tour Champion title. What an exciting finish to our 2013 Tour. Will these players step up or cave in? I will be following these matches closely and cannot wait to see how it turns out! Playoffs?.... Playoffs???.... You talken about playoffs?

Hickory Woods Results 07-16-2013

Results from Hickory Woods on July 16th

A hot and steamy day at Hickory Woods made it a weary day for golf. Overall scores were tightly coupled and and most were in the 80's. That is, not many low scores but not many high ones either. Only 10 birdies were carded on the day with 2 each by Austin Taylor and Zach Evans. Kudos of the day also goes to Zach Evans who earned medalist honors with a 78. As a SILVER player, Zach bettered all GOLD players. Congrats Zach! Carolina Farahay has done it again this week bettering her score from last week. That makes 5 consecutive weeks she has bettered or equaled her score. Way to go! We also had quite a few players shoot their best round on Tour this week.  Too many to list here... but nice job!

Our final Tour event and Championship will be at Walden Ponds on July 24th.

MENS GOLD
Austin Taylor (Milford) birdies the last hole to win by two strokes shooting 41-38 (79). Austin has now won five events to date. Brian Goertemoeller (Seven Hills) finishes 2nd for the third time on Tour on a round of 39-42 (81). Looking back at last year Austin knows how that feels... eh, Austin? Quinn Ourada (Madeira) makes it back to the podium this week scoring 42-43 (83) to share 3rd place with Nicholas Bierschwal (Sycamore) who shoots 41-42 (83).

Austin Taylor increases his Tour lead and remains at the top of our Mens Leaderboard with 640 points. Quinn has 550 points and still has a 140 point edge over Nicholas who has 410 points. Our event at Fairfield South Trace may be the last chance for these two to make a move before our Championship event next week.

MENS SILVER
Zach Evans (Madeira) betters his best round to date by 10 strokes and wins his first event on Tour shooting 39-39 (78). Ethan Kemp (Lebanon) finishes in 2nd again for the fourth consecutive week on a round of 39-43 (82). Kevin Martz (Bishop Fenwick) stays hot and shares 3rd scoring 43-42 (85) along with Mitchell Otten (LaSalle) who shoots 42-43 (85). Josh Nickol just misses his first top finish by one stroke along with Aaron Wade. They both shot 86.

Kevin Martz holds on to his 20 point lead over Mitchell Otten. Kevin has 780 points and Mitchell has 760.  Ethan Kemp remains in 3rd place but is gaining ground and stands at 690 points.

WOMENS GOLD
Although being ill the night before and not knowing if she would be able to play, Maddie Durbin (Springboro) didn't miss a beat and wins for the third time on a round of 42-42 (84). Cassidy Carstens (Mount Notre Dame) places 2nd with 46-40 (86) and Katie Willis (Lakota West), who also has three Tour wins this season, ties for 3rd with Alison Maier (Park Hills) on rounds of 88. Shellby Hoeppner (CNE) and Alex Martin (Mount Notre Dame) just miss the podium by 1 stroke and shoot 89.

On our Womens Leaderboard, the back and forth battle every week between Katie and Maddie continues. Down by 10 points last week, Maddie is now ahead by 10 with 750 points. Cassidy moves into the 3rd spot with 550 points but appears to be too far behind with two events remaining.

Six events are complete. Austin has a sizable lead and not looking back. Kevin and Mitchell are neck and neck down the stretch. Katie and Maddie have battled all year and have won all but two events between them. It all may come down to a playoff... just like last year.

Weatherwax Results 07-11-2013

Results from Weatherwax on July 11th

The rain had finally moved on and it was a perfect day for golf at Weatherwax on Wednesday. The course was in perfect shape but played long and difficult. So difficult that there were only 2 players to break 80 and only 12 total birdies on the day. Mens GOLD carded 4 with Mark Reinhart taking two of those; Womens GOLD carded 4 with Katie Willis taking two; and Mens SILVER also carded 4 with Kevin Martz grabbing two. On the weekly "Improvement List", only 2 players remain that have equaled or bettered their score from each prior week (with at least 4 events played). Carolina Farahay has done it 4 events in a row and unbelievably Jesse Rasmussen has done it in all 5 events! Congrats and keep it up!

MENS GOLD
Austin Taylor (Milford) returns to form and wins again shooting 36-40 (76). Austin has now won four of the five events to date. Brian Goertemoeller (Seven Hills) nearly cracks the 80 mark to place 2nd on a round of 41-39 (80) and Mark Reinhart (Sycamore) finishes 3rd scoring 44-40 (84). Last week's winner, Quinn Ourada (Madeira) drops to 5th in today's event.

With 3 events remaining, it looks like only Quinn Ourada may catch our Tour Leader Austin Taylor. Austin leads with 530 points, Quinn is 2nd with 460 points, and Nicholas Bierschwal (Sycamore) is a distant 3rd with 320 points.

MENS SILVER
Kevin Martz (Bishop Fenwick) wins for the second week in a row and has been on fire lately. Kevin just misses medalist honors and shoots 39-38 (77) with 2 birdies on the day. Ethan Kemp (Lebanon) finishes in 2nd again this week on a round of 42-43 (85). Clinton McElroy (Georgetown) edges into 3rd place shooting 44-46 (90).

With today's win, Kevin Martz moves atop of the Leaderboard with 660 points. Mitchell Otten (LaSalle), who was leading by 20 last week, is now 20 points behind with 640 points. Ethan Kemp remains in a distant 3rd with 560 points but is not out of the picture jsut yet.

WOMENS GOLD
Last week's winner Katie Willis (Lakota West) wins again on a solid round of 44-40 (84) which included 2 birdies. Maddie Durbin (Springboro) continues to battle every week and finishes 2nd shooting 45-41 (86). Hannah Hautzinger (Lebanon) finishes 3rd scoring 46-43 (89).

Katie and Maddie remain at the top of our Womens Leaderboard. Katie now leads by a mere 10 points with 650 total. Hannah continues to creep forward every week and has now moved into 3rd with 460 points. Cassidy Carstens still holds onto the 4th spot with 450 points.

After five events we still have some great races in each division. Next week the CAGT will hold two events. Will our leaders continue to lead or fall to the pressure? It should be a great week for golf!

Another week of threatening rain and another week that it held off just long enough for everyone to complete their rounds. Scores were decent for the most part but birdies were scarce on the day. Special kudos to Shellby Hoeppner and Carolina Farahay for dropping their scores by 6 strokes or more each week for the last 3-4 events. Way to go!

MENS GOLD
Quinn Ourada (Madeira) tears it up today to win his first event on Tour with a round of 39-33 (72). Quinn was 2-under on the back side carding one of the lowest nine hole scores in Tour history! After winning the first three events, Austin Taylor (Milford) takes 2nd shooting 39-38 (77). Michael McCowan (Lebanon) has his best round yet and takes a 3rd place finish on a score of 39-40 (79).

It is shaping up to be a two man race for the title on our Mens GOLD Leaderboard. Austin has 410 points to lead followed closely by Quinn with 380. Nicholas Bierschwal (Sycamore) continues to hold a distant 3rd place with 250 pointsBrian Goertemoeller (Seven Hills) who was also tied for 3rd last week did not play. This will be a fun race to watch heading into the second half of the season.

MENS SILVER
After finishing second in the last 2 events, Kevin Martz (Bishop Fenwick) finally gets a win on a round of 38-42 (80). Chandler Harlow (Oak Hills) continues to play solid golf and this week takes a 2nd place finish shooting 41-43 (84). Also tied for 2nd with the exact same round is Ethan Kemp (Lebanon). Last week's winner, Mitchell Otten (LaSalle) drops to 6th on today's event.

Mitchell Otten continues as our Mens SILVER leader with 560 points but Kevin Martz is now only 20 points behind at 540. Aaron Wade and Ethan Kemp are both in 3rd with 450 points. Our next event will probably determine whether this will be a two man race to the finish.

WOMENS GOLD
Defending Champion Katie Willis (Lakota West) gets her first win this year on a great round of 38-40 (78) which included 10 pars. Last weeks winner Maddie Durbin (Springboro) finishes 2nd shooting 41-40 (81), and in her first event Kelsey Wessels (Oak Hills) takes 3rd shooting 47-43 (90).

Our Leaderboard looks to be another race to the finish between two players. Both Katie and Maddie are tied at the top with 500 points. Kerianne Murphy (Lebanon) moves into 3rd place with 360 points. Even though she did not play this week, Cassidy Carstens only drops one spot to 4th with 340 points.

After four events each division has two players battling for the top spot and only a few others that can make a move. Our Weatherwax event next week should will be an important one to our top leaders. What a great race to the finish!

Mitchell Otten (LaSalle) wins back to back events on a round of 39-42 (81) including 10 pars for a very solid round. Kevin Martz (Bishop Fenwick) and Ethan Kemp (Lebanon) tie for second place. Both had a steady round of 83-83 (86). Aaron Wade (Milford) shoots 43-44 (87) to take 4th place.

Mitchell Otten continues as our Mens SILVER leader with 400 points and holds a 60 point lead over Aaron Wade and Kevin Martz who both have 340 points. All three players were at the top last week and are looking to separate themselves from the pack. This looks like it will be a great race to the finish.

WOMENS GOLD
Maddie Durbin (Springboro) bounces back to win her second event on tour with a round of 39-44 (83). Hannah Hautzinger (Lebanon) also ties for first shooting 41-42 (83). Both Maddie and Hannah had 9 pars on the day. Cassidy Carstens (Mount Notre Dame) takes 2nd place again this week with a round of 45-40 (85) along with Katie Willis (Lakota West) who shot 42-43 (85). Last weeks winner  Emilie Mattei (Seton) falls to 5th shooting 43-45 (88).

With two wins on the season, Maddie Durbin is our leader with 360 points. Defending Champion Katie Willis is in second with 350 points and Cassidy Carstens is close behind with 340 points. This is a very tight race heading into the second half of the Tour.

After three events the Womens GOLD is still up for grabs. Mitchell Otten has a 60 point lead in the Mens SILVER and Austin Taylor has won all the events in the Mens GOLD. Will our Sharon Woods event let our leaders separate or will the pack catch up? I can't wait!

Winton Woods Results 06-19-2013

Results from Winton Woods on June 19th

Conditions for our second event at the Winton Woods Mill course could not have been better and the scores on the day reflected that fact. The ladies really stepped it up over last week. Cassidy Carstens, Alison Maier, and Megan Selby all were 20 strokes better this week. In fact just about every player bettered their score over our event at Blue Ash last week. The ladies carded 14 birdies on the day, followed by the Mens GOLD with 12, and the Mens SILVER with 7. What a great day for golf!.

MENS GOLD
Austin Taylor (Milford) continues his hot start on Tour by shooting an even par 37-34 (71). Austin had 2 birdies on the day and 2 bogies and the rest pars for a very consistent round and wins the event by 5 strokes over Brian Goertemoeller (Seven Hills) 39-37 (76). Finishing 3rd is Quinn Ourada (Madeira) with a steady round of 41-41 (82).

On our Mens GOLD Leaderboard, Austin is still at the top with two events won and 220 points. Quinn stays in 2nd place with 190 points, and Brian moves into the 3rd spot with 170 points.

MENS SILVER
Mitchell Otten (LaSalle) wins his first event on Tour on a round of 40-41 (81). Kevin Martz (Bishop Fenwick) finishes 2nd with 43-41 (84) and carded 10 pars on the day. A couple triple bogeys kept him out of the lead but still a very solid round. Aaron Wade (Milford) shoots 44-41 (85) to take 3rd place.

With a win and a 2nd place finish last week, Mitchell is now our Mens SILVER leader with 260 points. Aaron climbs a spot to 2nd with 230 points and Kevin moves into contention at 3rd with 210 points. Last week's winner and leader, Ethan Kemp, did not play.

WOMENS GOLD
Playing in her first CAGT event this season, Emilie Mattei (Seton) lights it up on a round of 39-37 (76) for the win. With nothing worse than a bogey along with three birdies made for a great round. Cassidy Carstens (Mount Notre Dame) has a very similar round shooting 41-38 (79) to take 2nd. Alison Maier (Park Hills) drains 4 birdies on the day to take 3rd place with a score of 43-37 (80).

With consistent play over our first two events, Alison is our new Tour co-leader in the Womens GOLD division with 220 points. Defending Champion Katie Willis (Lakota West), who finished 4th today, moves up a spot and is now also tied for the lead. Last weeks leader Maddie Durbin (Springboro) drops to a tie for 3rd on the Leaderboard along with Cassidy Carstens at 210 points..

After two events the Womens GOLD has 4 players all within 10 points at the top of the Leaderboard. Mitchell Otten is trying to pull away in the Mens SILVER, and can anyone keep pace with Austin Taylor in the Mens GOLD? We'll see next week at Glenview if our leaders pull further away or if someone can make a move!

Blue Ash Results 06-12-2013

Results from Blue Ash on June 12th

After heavy rain washed out our first event at Hickory Woods, it was a beautiful (and hot) day at Blue Ash. The course was in great shape and conditions were perfect. Scores were a bit higher for this event as compared to last year and birdies were scarce for the most part with only 16 carded on the day. Austin Taylor, Quinn Ourada, Mark Reinhart, and Ryan Shaffner all had 2 birdies a piece. All in all a fair day for scores, but not the best as only one player broke 80.

MENS GOLD
After finishing as Tour Runner-Up the last two seasons to Eric Hensler, Austin Taylor (Milford) was the incoming favorite for the 2013 Tour. Austin did not disappoint and easily won the event with a dominating round of 38-37 (75) which consisted of 2 birdies and 11 pars. Quinn Ourada (Madeira) ties for 2nd with a 38-43 (81) along with Mark Reinhart (Sycamore) 37-44 (81). A triple bogey on the last hole kept Quinn out of the 70s.

On our Mens GOLD Leaderboard, Austin Taylor leads the way with 120 points. Quinn Ourada and Mark Reinhart are close behind each with 100 points. We have a long way to go so it is too early for any predictions in this division.

MENS SILVER
In the Mens SILVER Ethan Kemp (Lebanon) wins his first Tour event with a round of 44-44 (88). Ethan had 7 pars on the day but 2 triples prevented a lower score. Finishing 2nd is Mitchell Otten (LaSalle) 47-44 (91) which included a birdie on the 16th hole. Tied for 3rd are Stephen Coleman (Sycamore) with a round of 42-50 (92), and Aaron Wade (Milford) scoring 47-45 (92) .

On our SILVER Leaderboard, Ethan is at the top with 130 points, Mitchell with 120 points and both Stephen and Aaron with 110 points.

WOMENS GOLD
Newcomer Maddie Durbin (Springboro) edges out our 2012 defending champion by sinking a 10 footer on the 18th hole. Maddie shot 46-43 (89) including a birdie on the par 5 10th hole. Katie Willis (Lakota West) is just 1-off with a 47-43 (90) to take 2nd place and also scored a birdie on the day. Alison Maier (Park Hills) is a distant 3rd on a round of 51-49 (100).

Maddie sets the pace on our Womens Leaderboard with 120 points, followed by Katie with 110 points, and Alison 100 points.

A great start to our 2013 Tour. Congratulations to all our top finishers and leaders! Will we see repeat winners next week or will someone else step up?

Championshp Results at Walden Ponds 07-25-2012

Results from Walden Ponds on July 25th

Our Championship event was a thriller! This final event was scored in two methods. First, it counted as our 8th event towards Tour points to determine our Tour divisional champions. Secondly, it was also scored as a handicapped event which allowed all players the opportunity to win the "Championship" event.  The weather held out and scores were very good all around.

For our Mens GOLD division there was a repeat from the 2011 season. Eric Hensler takes the title with 1020 points winning 6 of the 8 events on Tour. Austin Taylor finishes as Runner Up with 860 points. With Eric moving on to collegiate golf, Austin will definitely be the favorite heading into next season and Austin will only be a high school junior in 2013! Congratulations to both on a great year!

Our Womens GOLD division came down to a playoff. The race was extremely tight heading into the final round and amazingly enough after final points were totaled there was a 3-way tie for first place between Katie Willis, Darrianne Dunham, and Christina Brinkmann. On the first playoff hole all three were trying to get up and down for par. With nerves of steel, Katie sinks a 5 footer to become the 2012 champion. Christina finishes 2nd after bogeying the hole, and Darrianne comes in at 3rd. Congratulations ladies it was a fun battle to watch! We have photos of the playoff so check them out!

Heading into the Championship event, Mens SILVER was also a tight race between Ryan Elash and Hayden Kinch. Both battled one another on the day and both wound up shooting 83. In the end Ryan stays on top and earns the Tour Champion title.  Hayden, who was last years SILVER champion finishes as Runner Up. Congrats to both!

In our Championship scoring method, Carson Susich takes the title with a net score of 55.33. Carson also had low net score of the day with even par 72. Our Championship Runner-Up is held by 2 players do to  a slight mistake in scoring calculations. Ben King earned the award as determined on the day of play. However, Elizabeth Gibbs was actually less then two tenths better in net score. As the difference in score was so slight, both players will be receiving an award. Congratulations to all three players on a great final round and their best of the year as well!

As an added Tour benefit we also had a random drawing for 5 $100 gift cards to Dicks Sporting Goods. Here are our winners. Go buy yourself some new golf gear!

Justin Kim
Matthew Alexander
Kelsey Wessels
Ryan Elash
Cassidy Carstens

Sharon Woods Results 07-18-2012

Results from Sharon Woods on July 18th

Although scores were very good at our Sharon Woods event on July 18th, the weather did not co-operate. A 1 hour delay due to lightning threw a wrench into our start. Hopefully everyone received our up-to-date text messages regarding the status. Then the heat and humidity came making play miserable. Finally the rains came and washed out our Women's players before their rounds could be completed. Which brings me to an important note:

Since the ladies did not all complete 18 holes, the event for them was "scored" as a 9 hole event and any activity after the player finished the first nine will be disregarded. This means that points and standings were determined from the first 9 holes. Since all stats, scoring average, handicap, etc are based upon an 18 hole round, the first nine holes were "replicated" and scored as the back 9. While this is not truly accurate, the back nine is based upon an actual 9 hole score... just counted twice. As a result stats will also be slightly skewed but this should be negligible over the course of the season. I apologize to our ladies, but this is the manner in which it must be scored.

All in all a great scoring day with many players breaking 80 or having their best round of the year.

Our Championship event is July 25th at Sharon Woods.  This is the last event of our Tour.

MENS GOLD
Eric Hensler (Fairfield) continues to dominate and has another great round of 1 over 33-83 (71). Eric had an eagle and 2 birdies on the front side for an excellent start. Robert Wagner (Bethel Tate) finishes in 2nd on a round of 34-42 (76) and also included 3 birdies on the front nine. Two sub-par scores on the front nine! Konner Ottaway (Fairfield) is one stroke back taking 3rd on a round of 40-37 (77). Konner had 4 birdies on the day. Austin Taylor (Milford), who is always in the mix finishes 4th with a 40-28 (78).

On our GOLD Leaderboard, Eric Hensler now seems to have an insurmountable lead of 890 points. Austin Taylor is in a comfortable 2nd with 750 points and Robert Wagner moves into the 3rd spot with 540 points. With solid rounds in our final event it should stay this way... but nothing is guaranteed.

MENS SILVER
Ryan Elash (Fairfield) wins his third Tour event with a round of 39-37 (76) on 11 pars and 1 birdie. Tied for 2nd is Mason Moore (Fairfield) 38-40 (78), Justin Kim (Mason) and Kevin Martz (Bishop Fenwick) 38-40 (78).  Last weeks winner, Bryce Kroeger (New Richmond) comes in at 5th place on a round of 42-39 (81).

Our SILVER Leaderboard is a back-and-forth battle. Ryan Elash regains the top spot with 820 points.  Hayden Kinch (Fairfield) drops to 2nd with 790 points and Daniel Stephan (Milford) remains in 3rd with 750 points. Kevin Martz and Bryce Kroeger are also only a few points behind our top three.

Our Champion and runner-up with definitely be decided in our Championship event. The pressure is on!!

WOMENS GOLD
On our rain shortened event for the ladies, Christina Brinkmann (Lakota East) wins her first Tour event with a 39. Christina was also on a roll on the backside... to bad the rains came. In a three way tie for 2nd with a score of 41 are Katie Willis (Lakota West),  Darrianane Dunham (National Trail), and Hannah Hautzinger (Lebanon). Note that these nine hole scores are duplicated for the backside.

On our Women's GOLD Leaderboard, Katie Willis (Lakota West) gains the top spot with 620 points. Darrianne is only 20 points behind in 2nd with 600 and Christina moves up to 3rd place with 590 points. Last week's leader, Mackenzie Laumann (Oak Hills), did not play this event and drops to 4th with 580 points.

This is our tightest race of all divisions and should be a great battle in determining Tour Champion. Good luck ladies!

Weatherwax Results 07-12-2012

Results from Weatherwax on July 12th

Our July 12th event at Weatherwax provided very good scores overall but only 4 players were able to break 80 including one from the Womens GOLD division. We also saw our first sub-par round of the year (and second in the two year history of the Tour). Many players had their best rounds of the year on this day.

Birdies were plentiful with Mens GOLD carding 20, Womens GOLD carding 8, and Mens SILVER carding 9. Konner Ottaway scored a run of 3 straight. Eric Hensler and Robert Wagner also had 3 on the day. Austin Wells, Henry Heidlage, Jeff Kroeger, Morgan Eib, Andrew Asher, and Ben Fraizer all carded 2. We also saw two eagles on the day! One from Austin Wells on a par 4 and one from Robert Wagner.

Blue Ash Results 07-03-2012

Results from Blue Ash on July 3rd

Another hot day in Cincinnati but tee times were early so players avoided the major heat of the day. Scores were "in-line" for this week with our leaders keeping pace and the rest of the pack scoring around their averages. Birdies were scarce for the most part with only 16 carded on the day. Several had 2 a piece while Bryce Kroeger carded 3. We had one eagle on the day by Ben Laumann on the par 4 12th. All in all a good day for scores but not the best as only 2 players broke 80.

Beckett Ridge Results 06-27-2012

Results from Beckett Ridge on June 27th

It was a beautiful morning for golf at Beckett Ridge. Sunny, calm, and comfortable. Perfect conditions to put up some good scores. However, in today's battle the course won. Scores were higher than usual due to triples, quads, and quite a few beyond that. Birdies were scarce as well. Six players carded two birdies on the round while only 7 others carded one. The highlight was 2 eagles recorded on the day. Congrats to Austin Wells and Jesse Rasmussen.

Our next event is July 3rd at Blue Ash.  The season is half over and there is still tight races in each division. I expect it to come down to our last event.

MENS GOLD
Eric Hensler (Fairfield) wins his 3rd event on the 2012 tour shooting 38-37 (75) on 11 pars and 2 birdies. Newcomer Chris Rossi, also from Fairfield, recoups from a slow start and finsishes 2 strokes behind on a round of 42-35 (77) which also included 2 birdies. Austin Taylor (Milford) keeps battling with consistent play and finishes 3rd with a 38-40 (78) and has 2 birdies as well. The rest of the pack came in with rounds between 83 and 93.

Halfway through the season it is shaping up to be a 2 man race to the finish... just as it was last year. Eric Hensler remains our leader with 530 points, but Austin Taylor remains on his tail just 20 points back at 510. Tied for 3rd is Grant Macchiochi (Moeller) and Ben Laumann (Oak Hills) at 360. Both Grant and Ben did not play this event which kept them from keeping up with the leaders.

MENS SILVER
Ryan Elash (Fairfield) wins his second Tour event and cards the best round of anyone on the day with a 2-over par 36-38 (74). Ryan's even par 36 on the front side included 5 straight pars to start and a birdie to finish. Although a distant 2nd, Hayden Kinch (Fairfield) continues his consistent play on a round of 43-43 (86) which included 1 birdie. Ben Frazier (Clermont Northeastern) has his best finish on Tour and comes in at 3rd with a 48-43 (91). Last week's winner Daniel Stephan (Milford) has an off day and finishes 7th with a 96.

On our SILVER leaderboard, Hayden finally get ahold of the top spot with 520 points. Daniel Stephan is close behind with 480 points and Ryan Elash moves up to the 3rd spot with 430 points. With 4 events remaining the spread is still close enough for all to earn Tour Champion.

WOMENS GOLD
Darrianane Dunham (National Trail) returns to form and wins her second event on a round of 44-41 (85) which included 2 birdies. Mackenzie Laumann (Oak Hills) is just 1-off with a 45-41 (86) and has 2 birdies as well. Christina Brinkmann (Lakota East) finishes 3rd on a round of 45-44 (89).

Mackenzie continues as our Tour Leader with 410 points. Mallorie Mullinger (Mt Notre Dame) remains a contender and now stands solely in 2nd at 340 points. Christina moves back into the top three and is at 3rd with 320 points. Katie Willis (Lakota West) holds in 4th with 310 point. Emilie Mattei (Seton) slips to the 5th spot from 2nd but is still close at 300 points. A very tight pack within the top 5.... so it's still anyone's title to win.

As the toughest track is now behind us, I look forward to some seeing some lower group scores next week. Congratulations to all our top finishers and leaders!

Glenview Results 06-20-2012

RESULTS FROM GLENVIEW JUNE 20th

It was a hot and steamy day at Glenview but the heat did not wear out the players as today's scores were very good.

Mens GOLD scored some great rounds with 9 of 16 players at a round of 80 or better. Austin Wells led the way with a 75 including an eagle. As a group, there were 18 birdies carded on the day. Womens GOLD was another tight pack except for our winner Mackenzie Laumann who won by 6 strokes with an 82. The ladies also had their share of birdies with 6 out of the 10 players getting a bird. Mens SILVER also had a great day with 8 of 14 players breaking 90.

Our apologies but we were only able to get a couple of photos for this round. If you have some please let me know.

Our next event is June 27th at Beckett Ridge.  Will we have new champions or returning ones?

MENS GOLD
Austin Wells (New Richmond) wins his first CAGT event with an impressive round of 37-38 (75). Austin had 3 birdies and 1 eagle on the day to aid in his win. Austin Taylor (Milford) continues his consistent play and finishes 2nd with a 37-39 (76) which included 3 birdies. Austin T. has finished in the top 3 in every event this year and in the top 5 in all 8 events in 2011. Konner Ottaway (Fairfield) takes 3rd with a round of 40-37 (77).

Our Mens GOLD Leaderboard remains a tight race. Austin Taylor has caught up with Eric Hensler (Fairfield) and they are tied for the lead with 410 points. Grant Macciochi (Moeller) and Ben Laumann (Oak Hills) are not far behind with 360 points a piece.

MENS SILVER
Daniel Stephan (Milford) gets his first win of the season scoring 43-38 (81). Daniel has improved each week with previous finishes of 5th, and 3rd. Last week's winner, Ryan Elash (Fairfield), finished 1 stroke back on a round of 44-38 (82). Mason Moore (Fairfield) shoots 43-41 (84) to take 3rd.

Daniel Stephan is now tops on our SILVER Leaderboard with 400 points. Once again, Hayden Kinch (Fairfield) is just 10 points behind our leader. Bryce Kroeger (New Richmond) and Ryan Hanrahan (Anderson) are in 3rd place with 310 points. Last week's points leader, Justin Kim (Mason), did not play this event and drops to 5th.

WOMENS GOLD
Mackenzie Laumann (Oak Hills) out paced the pack with a 40-42 (82) to win the event by 6 strokes. Mac had a very consistent round of 8 pars and 1 birdie. Although this is her first win this year, Mackenzie also had 2 CAGT wins in 2011. Newcomer Malorie Mullinger (Mt. Notre Dame) continues to improve every week and finishes 2nd with a 41-47 (88). Morgan Eib (Springboro) also ties for 2nd on a round of 45-43 (88). Morgan has finished 2nd in both of her events this season. Also, congratulations to Caleigh Lyons (Notre Dame Academy) who has improved her score by over 14 strokes in each of the last 3 events!

Mackenzie is our new points leader with 320. Emilie Mattei (Seton), who finished 4th today, moves into a tie for 2nd in points with 270 along with Malorie Mullinger. Last weeks leader, Katie Willis (Lakota West) drops to 4th as she had to drop from today's round with an injury.

All in all, the best rounds of the tour so far this year and many nice rounds from Fairfield players (none of which played in the same group). Congratulations to all our top finishers and leaders!

Winton Woods Results 06-14-2012

Results from Winton Woods on June 13th

Another perfect day for golf and again scores were very good in general and very consistent. Six players broke 80 on the day including 2 from Mens SILVER. Jenna McGuire (Villa Madonna) just missed the mark in Womens GOLD with a round of 80. Looking at all scores it seems apparent that the front nine was much more difficult than the backside for most players.

Mens GOLD racked up 22 birdies on the day with 3 a piece from Eric Hensler (Fairfield) and Nick Bierschwal (Sycamore). Womens GOLD players who carded birdies were Jenna McGuire (2), Katie Willis (Lakota West), Christina Brinkmann (Lakota East), and Alison Maier (Notre Dame Academy). Mens SILVER had 9 birdies led by Ryan Elash (Fairfield) (3) and Hayden Kinch (Fairfield) (2). Ryan Hanrahan (Anderson) scored the first eagle of the year on the par 5 18th. Nice job Ryan!

Over 50% of Mens GOLD bettered 85 on the day and over 50% of Womens GOLD and Mens SILVER bettered 90 on the day.

Our next event is June 20th at Glenview.  With strong competition so far, anyone can win.

MENS GOLD
Eric Hensler (Fairfield) wins his second event of the 2012 season shooting 38-34 (72). As such Eric remains at the top of the Mens GOLD Leaderboard with 310 points. Eric also leads in all other statistical categories. Finishing 2nd on the day is Grant Macciocchi (Moeller) with a round of 37-38 (75) including 11 pars and 2 birdies. Grant is currently 3rd in Tour points with 260. Austin Taylor (Milford) finishes 3rd also with 11 pars and 2 birdies with a 41-35 (76). Austin remains just 40 points behind Eric with 270.

MENS SILVER
Two players distanced themselves from the pack today on fantastic rounds. Ryan Elash (Fairfield) cards a blistering 37-38 (75) to win his first event entered this season. Ryan also had 3 birdies on the day. Young phenom Justin Kim (Mason Middle) has another solid round on Tour shooting 37-40 (77) to finish in 2nd for the second week in a row. Taking 3rd was Daniel Stephan (Milford) who bettered last weeks 5th place finish by 5 strokes.

At the top of our SILVER Tour Leaderboard is Justin with 300 points. Hayden Kinch (Fairfield), who finished 4th today, is just 10 points behind with 290 and Daniel Stephan is also close behind with 260.

WOMENS GOLD
Newcomer Jenna McGuire (Villa Madonna) shoots a lights out 40-40 (80) to win her first CAGT event. Two double-bogeys attributed to keeping her out of the 70's... but still a great round. Katie Willis (Lakota West) 40-44 (84) and Hannah Hautzinger (Lebanon) 44-40 (84) tie for 2nd. On our Womens Tour Leaderboard, Katie leads with 260 points followed by Mackenzie Laumann  (Oak HIlls) (220), Christina Brinkmann (Lakota East) (210) and Hannah Hautzinger (210). Both of our current event champions have only played one event, so they are currently not at the top of our Tour Leaderboard.

Congratulations to all players on some great golf today!

Hickory Woods Results 06-06-2012

Results from Hickory Woods on June 6th

It was a beautiful opening day for the Tour at Hickory Woods. A bit breezy and cool but an excellent day for golf for 48 members. Our "Players to Watch" did not disappoint in our opening event. All three champions from the 2011 season continued their winning ways with victories today. Eric Hensler (Fairfield) won the Mens GOLD with a 76, Darrianne Dunham (National Trail) won the Womens GOLD with a round of 86, and Hayden Kinch took top honors in Mens SILVER with an 83.

Only two players broke 80 on the day, but in general all scores were very good with 90% of ALL members scoring below 100. Mens GOLD racked up 14 birdies on the day with 3 a piece from Adam Garbacik (Archbishop Moeller) and Mark Reinhart (Sycamore).  Mens SILVER had 8 birdies with 2 coming from Bryce Kroeger (New Richmond). For Womens GOLD Darrianne Dunham (National Trail), Morgan Eib (Springboro), and Kerianne Murphy (Lebanon) all had birdies.

Our next event is June 13th at Winton Woods.  Will our current leaders be over taken? I can't wait to see.

MENS GOLD
Eric Hensler (Fairfield) wins this first Tour event with a 36-40 (76). After a solid front nine, a triple bogey on #10 was the only blemish on the day. Eric had 12 pars and 1 birdie to win the event by 3 strokes.   Adam Garbacik (Archbiship Moeller)  finishes 2nd on a round of 38-41 (79). Three birdies helped to offset 4 double bogeys along with 7 pars. A very nice start from Adam.  Finishing 3rd on the day was a tie between Austin Taylor (Milford) with a round of 40-40 (80) and Ben Laumann (Oak Hills) with a round of 38-42 (80).

MENS SILVER
Hayden Kinch (Fairfield) takes top honors with a 41-42 (83) on a round that included a birdie and only 2 double bogeys. Justin Kim, who has even yet to enter high school at Mason, finished just one stroke off the lead with a round of 44-40 (84). One triple bogey led to Justin being held out of the top spot. Bryce Kroeger finishes 3rd, four strokes back, with a round of 46-42 (88). Bryce had an "up and down" day consisting of 2 birdies and 6 pars, but  2 quadruple bogeys did some damage. I expect Bryce to be a contender in our next event.

WOMENS GOLD
Darrianne Dunham (National Trail) wins yet another CAGT event with a round 40-46 (86). A couple triple bogeys on the back side was enough to keep her out of the 70's,  but it was enough to take the win by 1 stroke over Morgan Eib (Springboro).  Morgan shoots a very consistent round of 45-42 (87) and a great start on Tour.  Christina Brinkmann (Lakota East), who was the 2011 Tour Runner-Up, finishes 3rd with a round of 46-43 (89) with a very consistent round as well. Six pars and nothing over a double-bogey led to her great round. Great job today ladies!

Championship Results from Beckett Ridge 07-26-2011

Our final Tour event was really two events in one. Gross scores were tallied to determine top finishers, points were given for placements, and stats aggregated. These stats helped to determine our Tour Champions and Tour Runner-Ups. This event was also handicapped and awards given for the top 2 finishers based upon net score. Find results from the "normal" event at Beckett #2 while finding handicapped results at Championship.

In Mens GOLD, Eric Hensler (Fairfield) wins his 5th Tour event with a round of 38-39 (77) and also wins our Tour Championship. Sam Meek (Oak Hills) finishes 2nd with a 40-39 (78) while Christian Ridge (Bishop Fenwick), Alex Hannan (St. Xavier), Ben Belmonte (Sycamore), and Alex Elger (Springboro) all tie for 3rd with rounds of 80.

In Mens SILVER, Travis Freytag (Madeira) and TJ Strong (Colerain) tie for 1st on rounds of 78. Alex Knue (Moeller) comes in at 3rd with an 83. This is Travis' second Tour win of the season and TJ's second as well. Travis also wins our handicapped event.

In Womens GOLD, Mackenzie Laumann (Oak Hills) wins her third Tour event in four events on a round of 89. Darrianne Dunham (National Trail) finishes 2nd for the fourth time but earns our Womens GOLD Tour Champion title. Kerianne Murphy (Lebanon) finishes 3rd and finishes runner up in our handicapped event.

We also gave away 5 $100 gift cards to Dicks Sporting Goods! Congratulations to those winners. Go buy yourself some new golf equipment!

Hickory Woods Results 07-20-2011

It may have been the hottest day of the summer, but 39 players sweated it out. Amazingly enough, scores for the event were the lowest to date making this event the "easiest" on Tour. 50% of the Mens GOLD players shot 81 or better and 50% of the Mens SILVER shot 85 or better. Mackenzie Laumann was just 1 stroke off from a round in the 70's. There were two more eagles on this day and four more players won their first event of the season. Congrats to all who completed their rounds on this steamy July afternoon!.

In the Men's GOLD division, Blake Durbin (Reading) wins his first event on Tour with a 2-over 72.

In Men's SILVER, Hayden Kinch (Fairfield), Ryan Elash (Fairfield), and Konner Ottaway (Fairfield) all tie for 1st place with rounds of 81.

Mackenzie Laumann (Oak Hills) wins her second event with a round of 80 and cards 4 birdies in the process.

Weatherwax Results 07-18-2011

Participation was lower in this event due to the fact that it had to be rescheduled from a prior rainout. The heat index on this day was also over 100 which probably shied players away. However, our Tour leaders showed up to battle it out for one of the 8 Tour awards. Our Mens GOLD award is shown to the left.

In the Men's GOLD division, Eric Hensler (Fairfield) continues to dominate and wins his fourth event on Tour with a 1-over 73 and continues to lead in points.

In Men's SILVER, Henry Heidlage (New Richmond) wins his first event with an 89 and Evan McKinley (New Richmond) still leads in points.

Christina Brinkman (Lakota East) wins her first event with a 91 while Darianne Dunham (National Trail) finishes 2nd for the fourth time this season but still leads in points on Tour.

Walden Ponds Results 07-13-2011

Walden Ponds can be a brutal golf course if you get off the fairway, but there were many good scores posted on this beautiful day. 33 birdies and 4 eagles were carded on the day which surpasses any prior event.

In the Men's GOLD division, Eric Hensler (Fairfield) wins his third event on Tour with a 1-under 71 and continues to lead in points.

In Men's SILVER, Travis Freytag (Madeira) wins first event with a 78 and Evan McKinley (New Richmond) still leads in points.

Mackenzie Laumann (Oak Hills) wins her first event with an 86 while Darianne Dunham (National Trail) finishes 2nd and still leads in points on Tour.

Sharon Woods Results 07-06-2011

It was another hot day on the course at Sharon Woods, but the Tour had its best results to date. Almost 50% of the Mens GOLD players broke 80 with the low round of even par 70 coming from Eric Hensler. 23 birdies were recorded by 17 different players.

In the Men's GOLD division, Eric Hensler (Fairfield) wins his 2nd event on Tour with a solid 36-34 (70) consisting of 16 pars and 1 birdie. Eric also leads the Tour in points with 710.

In Men's SILVER, Colin Jaekle (Anderson) wins his 3rd consecutive event with a 79 and is currently 3rd in points behind Evan McKinley (New Richmond) and Hayden Kinch (Fairfield).

Ann Collett (Kings) and Darianne Dunham (National Trail) battle it out and tie for 1st place in the Womens division. Darriane and Ann are currently #1 and #2 in points on Tour.

Blue Ash Results 06-28-2011

After rains washed out the third event at Weatherwax the week before, skies were sunny for play at one of the best known tracks in Cincinnati. While only one player broke 80, the spread of scores in general was a little closer than in past events.

The course would give up 16 birdies on the day with 3 coming from GOLD player Blake Durbin (Reading) over a stretch of 4 holes on the back nine. Blake comes in with a 1 under 35 on the back nine and a 2nd place finish.

Mitchel McMurray (St. X), Colin Jaekle (Anderson), and Ali Cheesman (Notre Dame Academy) all have 2 wins on the season.
